What: Experts in literacy education will provide training in LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling) for Module 1 (The Challenge of Learning to Read) and Module 2 (The Speech Sounds of English: Phonetics, Phonology and Phoneme Awareness) on the 7th and 8th. On August 9th, Improving Education CEO, Jarrod Bolte and team will focus on setting team goals, using data for improvement and understanding the reliability of systems. 

Who: General educators, special educators, ESOL teachers, administrators, support teachers and any team members from kindergarten, first grade and second grade teams. Networked Schools include: Abbottston, Armistead Gardens, Calvin M. Rodwell, Cecil, Curtis Bay, Lakeland, Liberty, Maree G. Farring, Matthew A. Henson, Thomas Johnson, and Woodhome. 

BCPSS teachers will be compensated $420.00 for attending the three day training.

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided daily.
